PEMF Device

PEMF Device

After suffering a really bad concussion a few years ago, I was desperate to try anything that would help me heal my brain. Someone suggested a PEMF device. PEMF stands for Pulsed Electro-Magnetic Field. A PEMF device emits electromagnetic waves at different frequencies in order to stimulate and encourage the body’s natural recovery processes.

According to pemf-tech.com “Research has shown that daily use of PEMF therapy can alter stress responses by acting directly on the nervous system, glands, cells, tissues, and organs.”

While at first, I was using it to help heal my concussion, I now use it daily to assist with exercise or injury recovery, as well as for overall wellness.

Dr. David Bilstrom

Dr. David Bilstrom, MD

Dr. David Bilstrom has been one of the most popular speakers at our last two stress summits. He specializes in the treatment and prevention of autoimmune diseases. His main focus is on how the hormone cortisol impacts our health. Cortisol is the stress hormone and too much or too little can lead to chronic illness. He’s such a brilliant guy, I learn something new every time I speak with him. To learn more about Dr. B. visit his website at: www.drdavidbilstrom.com.

Laguna Beach, CA

Treasure Island Park – Laguna Beach, CA

One of the great things about running your own business is that you get to make the rules. Last summer, we took a cue from our coach Jeff Walker and his “Ski Fridays” and decided to have our own “Snorkel Fridays.” Our favorite spot to snorkel is in Laguna Beach, which about a 30-minute drive from our house. It’s so nice to be able to take a full or half-day off on a Friday, and just to go swim and play and be at one with nature. There are also tide pools to explore once we tire out from snorkeling. For me, being in nature is one of the highest forms of spirituality….and one of the best stress relievers that I can think of.

Prototype 202 Podcast

Prototype 202 Podcast

One of my favorite artists to listen to in order to de-stress is Prototype 202. They have a podcast where they produce and publish progressive house and trance music. Whenever I need to get in the zone, focus, or just try and chill out, I put this music in my ears and melt away.

Throat Coat Tea

Throat Coat Tea

There’s nothing quite like a nice cuppa herbal tea to relax the nerves. I started drinking Throat Coat Tea from Traditional Medicinals for my voice (obviously) but I like it so much that I literally drink it every day. It has a very pleasant eucalyptus sort of a smell that I find very soothing. The picture is of the Lemon Echinacea blend but I prefer the straight-up traditional version.

It doesn’t start with a P but…
