Feeling stuck in your grief?

Add Your What if you could heal your grief more in one weekend than in a year?

Come spend a long weekend with others who ‘get it’ and learn to laugh again.

This retreat is for anyone whose loved one has died and feels stuck in their grief.

If there was ONE THING that our departed loved ones would want for us, it’s to heal and move on. However, for many of us, the pain of losing a loved one is unlike anything we’ve faced…

… and let’s face it, society does NOT teach us how to grieve.

In fact, society just wants us to ‘move on’ and get ‘back to business’ as soon as possible, and would prefer if we didn’t talk about our grief either.

If you feel stuck in your grief or frozen  in your pain, and you can’t imagine feeling good again, this retreat is for you.

You will be in a safe setting  with only others who ‘get it.’ No more explaining, educating, or justifying. At last, you can let your guard down and do more healing in a weekend than in a year. That’s what past participants have reported happened for them.

Time doesn’t heal grief, but this retreat can. You’ll learn what to expect along the path, and the best practices for healing. You won’t just learn about them. You’ll experience them, too.

There are 3 types of people: People who have grieved, people who are grieving, and people who will grieve the loss of a loved one.

You can’t avoid grief, but you don’t have to face it alone.

Grief comes to each of us. It came for me at 23 when my 5 best friends were murdered, and again when my dad died two years later.

It came a third time when my wife and I lost our second child to a rare childhood disease. Our culture does NOT prepare us for loss, and avoids talking about it as much as possible.

For example, when my dad died, one single friend of mine came to his memorial. Since my daughter died, I have a friend who has STILL not spoken to me… and that was 13 years ago.

I know my daughter isn’t coming back, and at this point, I don’t think my friend is either.

What about the pain I felt along the way? NO amount of drugs, alcohol, food, or TV numbed that pain. The pain of grief is the worst thing I’ve ever felt in my life. I remember taking coaching calls on my couch doubled over in the fetal position, and it was only 1pm.

I also remember not wanting to pray ever again. I lost my faith in prayer. Prayer didn’t save my daughter, like it seemed to save other children in TV stories and books.

My mom worked on a grief retreat for many years after my dad died. First, she attended it, then she returned to help facilitate it. One year, she asked me to facilitate a section of the retreat related to how music can help with grief.

As a music therapy student, I offered to lead all the music that weekend. At the end of the retreat, the other facilitator and my mom agreed I could never leave lol.

Unfortunately, three years later, my daughter died from a rare disease. Grief returned, but this time it was different. I remembered what my mom taught on the retreat.

I could see her slides in my head as I encountered all the elements of grief.

That day I was doubled over on the couch? I saw her slide in my head that discussed energy, and I moved through that experience GUILT FREE.

I wrote about it all in my blog, which people all around the world followed. I will never forget all the comments from them. Comments that spoke of hope, inspiration, comfort, and faith. These were the things my readers felt when they read how I was approaching my grief.

One thing I heard early on was, “THERE’S NOTHING WORSE THAN THE DEATH OF A CHILD.”

Thanks to being on that retreat team, this was NOT TRUE… for me.

I had a NEW WAY of dealing with grief, and it’s this new way that I am committed to sharing with as many people who are feeling what I felt.

If you or someone you love is struggling with grief, I get it. Come heal.

There IS another way.

What Else Past Participants Are Saying

Participants fill out an anonymous survey at the end of the retreat; here’s what a few have said:

This retreat benefited me more than the year long grief counseling I received.

I found support for my broken heart.

I loved being able to mourn with others who mourn. I also loved discovering that I am not alone and that what I am experiencing is “normal” for one who is grieving as well as being offered ideas

on how to feel and move through grief.

Entire presentation with interweaving the music was incredible – one of a kind. 10+

Tim was exceptional. The music component was awesome. I value the people I met through this retreat and the safe, beautiful place to share my grief openly without judgment.

The music was so healing.

I appreciated the support that was offered by Tim and other participants. This program created an

environment  for us to be vulnerable.

It was heartfelt-driven, not dry and analytical. I found a place and community where I had

permission to freely express (or not express) my grief. Tim’s retreat gave me a sense of

community, understanding, hope, and practical tools to navigate this journey.

The program allowed me to share a grief no one wanted me to talk about.

Tim had a very pleasant demeanor. The material he presented was very timely and helpful to our

various situations. He shared his own stories that helped us relate to him without oversharing. I

truly admire his approach.

I love music which made this retreat very appealing. I loved the blend of instruction and sharing.

Being with so many people who have lost someone and giving us the time at the tables to talk and

cry made me feel heard. It made me feel not crazy. I’m not a musical person and wasn’t sure if I

would connect – I did connect and I learned that music is a beautiful resource.

Tim’s transparency and sharing his own grief journey made him relatable and knowledgeable.

Tim helped me to remove some blocks to moving forward after loss. Actually it’s been quite life-

changing. Much gratitude.

Retreat was a blessing in my life. Tim is an awesome presenter. His own experiences were so

relatable.

Safe place to let go, safe place to cry, few places to experience this kind of safety.

I loved taking a few days to get away from normal rhythms to focus on processing grief in healthy

ways, the lecture content, and the solidarity with those who “get it.”

Tim is so awesome. I like the way he broke things down – step-by-step and explained each level.

The compassion and validity to my/or feelings of loss that Tim expresses brought value. He gets

it, which is so very helpful.

I loved the practical approach that provided information I could use immediately.

Tim Ringgold has a heart of gold! He is very compassionate and helpful and has been so

supportive in so many people’s grief journey.

This retreat educated and enlightened and validated what I am experiencing. I am so thankful.
